St Georges House, located on St George street and Charles street, is a six storey office block in the centre of Leicester.

External works include new render and timber cladding and existing windows received a ‘deep clean’. Prior to this essential concrete repairs were undertaken.

Internally Stepnell carried out a full strip out and refurbishment of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors. Existing partition walls were removed to create an open plan work space. M&E services have been replaced with exposed ‘industrial feel’ installations. 

An existing lift shafthas been extended in order to service the sixth floor and a new DDA compliant, 10 person lift.

In addition to the refurbishment, the sixth floor now benefits from a new glass façade opening onto a decked roof terrace with a glass balustrade providing open space for the occupiers.

Unlike many other central Leicester developments, St Georges House benefits from generous levels of on site parking.

In conjunction with the ‘Leicestershire Cares’ programme, an ex young offender received valuable work experience during the project. Stepnell previously worked with Leicestershire Cares to provide similar work experience on a £12m office block in Leicestershire that was completed in May 2013.
