Thomas Sewell promoted to Nottingham regional director

Stepnell has promoted Thomas Sewell to the position of regional director for the company’s Nottingham office. In his previous role as operations and commercial manager, Thomas has led the Nottingham office since its launch in 2014.

Under his direction, the business – based at the Eldon Business Park, Chilwell – has become one of the East Midlands’ leading full-service construction providers. Already employing 54 members of staff, the Nottingham office’s turnover this year is set to be close to £40m.

Tom Wakeford joint managing director says: “Under Thomas’s leadership, our Nottingham office has gone from strength to strength. He has been instrumental in establishing Stepnell as one of the leading contractors in the East Midlands with an excellent range of clients and consultants.

“This well-deserved promotion also recognises the superb all-round performance of the entire team in Nottingham and the high calibre of the schemes they have delivered. The office was our strongest performing region during the last financial year and is set to repeat that achievement this year.”

Thomas has played a key role in winning and delivering high-profile projects across a range of sectors with 12 projects currently on site. Current education schemes include a £5.6 million contract to build the new headquarters for Nottingham Trent University’s Confetti Institute of Creative Technology, a new office for SIG in Sheffield and two student accommodation schemes. Completed education sector projects have included the first phase of a new hub for student life at the University of Nottingham; a new state of the art clinical skills building for the University of Leicester, and a major conference and events venue together with the student union refurbishment for De Montfort University in Leicester. Ongoing industrial and commercial projects by the Nottingham office include the creation of a brand-new design and research centre in Leicestershire for motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield and several fast paced industrial buildings.

Newly-promoted regional director Thomas Sewell says: “I’m delighted to be moving up to this new role and excited to be working with our experienced and talented team to continue to expand the company’s portfolio of high-quality construction schemes across the East Midlands. Our success is founded on the establishment of strong relationships with our clients, local supply chain and the communities where we work and our track record of providing full-service construction solutions which prioritise quality, customer satisfaction and innovation.”
