Stepnell grows Nottingham team

Stepnell has announced five new appointments to its Nottingham office at the Eldon Business Park, Beeston.

They include senior quantity surveyor Liam King, who joins from construction firm Willmott Dixon, where he held the same position.

Stepnell has also appointed Stephen Graham and Richard Green as site managers. Stephen was previously a site and project manager for Jaybuild Projects and has recently worked for Ashe Construction while Richard’s previous positions include site manager for Westleigh Developments and Hallam Contracts.

The company has two trainees based at the Beeston office. Tom Wood has been promoted to the role of trainee quantity surveyor, studying at New College Nottingham, having previously worked on site for Stepnell as a general operative. Ben Chippendale has been recruited by Stepnell as an apprentice joiner who will work alongside the company’s experienced directly employed workforce.

Stepnell opened its Nottingham office earlier this year to provide a base for the company’s expanding construction operations across Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire.

“We’re excited to be growing our East Midlands team with these new appointments and this follows from us recently securing a number of exciting new projects in the area,” says Stepnell operations and commercial manager Thomas Sewell, who heads the team of construction professionals based at the office. “The expansion of our team will further enhance the services we offer to clients in the region.”

Key ongoing projects for Stepnell locally include the £1 million refurbishment of St George’s House in Leicester city centre and a £1.5 million new-build housing development at Scraptoft, Leicester.

Stepnell’s East Midlands business specialises in projects for the education, commercial, residential, student accommodation, retail and leisure sectors.
