Stepnell expands in East Midlands with new Nottingham office

Stepnell has opened a new office in Nottingham following the continuing expansion of its business across the East Midlands.

Growing construction operations

The office – at the Eldon Business Park, Chilwell – provides a new base for the company’s growing construction operations across Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire.

The East Midlands business specialises in projects for the education, commercial, residential, student accommodation, retail and leisure sectors.

Enhance the local delivery of projects

Current schemes include a £1 million major refurbishment programme for the St George’s House office block in Leicester city centre which began at the end of 2013 and a £1.5 million new-build housing development at Scraptoft, Leicester, where work is now getting under way.

Stepnell operations and commercial manager Thomas Sewell, who heads the company’s team of construction professionals based at the new office, says: “We’re delighted to have opened this new office in Nottingham which will support our expanding construction operations in the region and enhance the local delivery of projects.”

New job and training opportunities

The new office is expected to create a number of new job and training opportunities in the region over the next 18 months, including trainee positions and construction apprenticeships.

Stepnell is a £66 million turnover building and civil engineering business headquartered in Rugby which undertakes construction projects from £10,000 to £30 million in value. Established in the 1870s, the company is a family-owned business which operates through a network of regional offices across central and southern England.
