Stepnell appoints Senior Quantity Surveyor

Stepnell has appointed Matthew James as Senior Quantity Surveyor for its expanding Poole based business.

Matthew has joined Stepnell from Willmott Dixon Housing where he held the same position.

In his new role, Matthew will support Nick Garlick, commercial manager for the firm’s Wantage office, in heading up the commercial management for Stepnell’s expanding construction operations in Dorset and the South West. He will be responsible for the delivery of high performance buildings and enhanced value for money for Stepnell’s clients.

Stepnell Regional Director Rob Speirs says: “Matthew combines extensive technical expertise with a highly successful track record in our current and future work sectors and I am delighted that we have attracted someone of his ability and experience to support the business’s continuing expansion.

“With construction activity on the increase in the region, he will play a key role in our planned growth strategy which will see Stepnell further extend its geographical coverage across the south of England whilst maintaining our core values and commitment to deliver high quality projects and superb service for our clients.” The expanded office will provide comprehensive construction and engineering services to clients across Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire, West Sussex and Surrey.

Matthew’s previous career has also included working as Senior Quantity Surveyor with construction firm J B Leadbitter & Co. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Construction.
