Stepnell promotes Rob Speirs to board of directors

Stepnell has promoted Poole-based Rob Speirs to its Board of Directors.

Rob, who lives in Wimborne, becomes director with special responsibility for leading the family-owned national business’s expanding south coast construction operations. The company’s regional office is in Poole, Dorset and works throughout Dorset, Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex.

Since joining Stepnell as regional director in summer 2015, Rob has steered the business through an exciting period of growth in Dorset and the south coast.

Building on the company’s reputation for delivering high-calibre buildings and exceptional client service, Rob has secured a series of significant and high-profile developments and overseen their successful completion. They include the multimillion pound refurbishment of Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts which Stepnell completed towards the end of last year and the creation of a new spinal support centre at Livability Holton Lee in East Holton, Dorset, which was opened by HRH The Princess Royal this January.

Other major contracts won and currently under construction through his leadership include Parkstone Yacht Club’s state-of-the-art new clubhouse in Parkstone, Poole; a multimillion pound retirement living apartment complex for Pegasus Life in Horsell, Woking and an £11.6 million specialist care home for Brendoncare in Otterbourne Hill, Hampshire.

“This well-deserved promotion reflects the impressive performance of the company’s operations in Dorset and the South Coast under Rob’s direction,” says Stepnell joint managing director Tom Wakeford. “He has developed excellent relationships with our clients and consultants on the South Coast which puts us in a strong position in our key markets. Rob is an excellent addition to the Board and I am looking forward to his continued contribution to the wider business over the coming years.”
